This service agreement contains terms and conditions the RCIC will follow in providing immigration and/or citizenship services to the Client.
The RCIC is licensed and regulated by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (College). The College regulates licensed immigration and citizenship consultants to protect the public interest and maintains standards of professional conduct for all licensees.
Both parties agree to the terms of this service agreement and understand and accept the responsibilities and obligations outlined in it. The parties agree to the following General Provisions.
The RCIC has provided the Client with a copy of the Code of Professional Conduct that governs the RCIC's professional obligations at https://yci.co/cicc-code. The Client acknowledges receipt of this Code.
The Client is obligated to pay a fee of $150 in advance for this Immigration Consultation of up to 45 minutes. A Client who retains the RCIC within one (1) week of this consultation by signing a service agreement will receive the $150 consultation fee as a credit applied against the initiation fee on the first invoice issued. This consultation fee is non-refundable and the credit has no cash value. The credit applies only where the consultation fee has been paid in full and is not available where the fee has been waived, discounted, or provided as a courtesy. A maximum of one consultation fee credit may be applied per client regardless of the number of consultations held.
Should the consultation exceed 45 minutes, additional time will be billed at $50 per 15 minutes or any portion thereof. Overtime will only proceed with verbal agreement from both parties during the session.
The purpose of the consultation is to provide the RCIC with sufficient information to allow for a better analysis and comprehensive advice on immigration options, including estimated time frames, professional fees and costs. This does not establish an RCIC-Client relationship.
The Client agrees to provide accurate and complete information to the best of their knowledge during and after this consultation. The RCIC will not be held liable for any incorrect or missing information provided by the Client that may impact the outcome of this consultation or any subsequent application.
This Agreement does not obligate the RCIC to act for the Client in any application or proceedings. Should the Client require further advice or representation from the RCIC following this consultation, the Client must sign a separate service agreement with the RCIC.
By signing this Agreement, the Client is granted access to Follow Up Consult for a period of twelve (12) months from the Effective Date. Follow Up Consult is a 15-minute phone or WhatsApp session available upon request by contacting the RCIC directly. Sessions are billed at $50, due before the call. Follow Up Consult is intended for brief follow-up questions and general guidance relating to the same immigration matter or any ongoing immigration matter for the same client. It is not intended for inquiries on behalf of other individuals, which require a separate consultation. Document review is not included. The RCIC reserves the right to decline or reschedule a Follow Up Consult request.
The RCIC shall provide this consultation by video conferencing with screenshare capability where applicable. The Client agrees to use email as the preferred mode of communication. Alternative formats may be accommodated at the RCIC's sole discretion.
The consultation fee is non-refundable once the consultation has been rendered. A refund of the paid fee less a $25 administrative fee may be issued if the Client submits a cancellation request at least four (4) hours before the scheduled start time. The RCIC will accommodate one reschedule at no cost; subsequent rescheduling requests will incur a $25 administrative fee. No refund will be issued if the Client fails to join within 15 minutes of the scheduled start time.
The RCIC is not responsible or accountable for any change in government legislation, regulation, or policy that may impact the advice given during this consultation or the processing of any subsequent application by the Client.
If the RCIC is unable to answer a question during the consultation, the RCIC will follow up via email within seven (7) business days. This does not constitute grounds for a refund.
The RCIC may share case details and personal information with other regulated professionals or service providers strictly for the purpose of delivering services, exploring viable immigration options, or improving service quality. Such sharing will be conducted in accordance with applicable privacy legislation.
The Client shall not record the consultation in any format without prior written approval from the RCIC. The Client may take written notes during the consultation; however, the RCIC will not share meeting minutes or notes. The RCIC may share next steps and action items at the RCIC's sole discretion. The RCIC reserves the right to record the session for internal documentation purposes.
If the Client has concerns about the RCIC's conduct or services, the Client may file a complaint with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (College). Information about the complaints process is available at college-ic.ca, by email at complaints@college-ic.ca, or by phone at 1-877-836-7543.
This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the RCIC and the Client and supersedes all prior or contemporaneous oral or written agreements concerning this consultation. This Agreement may only be amended by mutual written agreement of both parties.
This Agreement shall be governed by the laws in effect in the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
