If your program completion date changed, provide explanation and updated Letter of Acceptance
Confirm new expected graduation date
Financial Documents
Proof of financial support for remaining program duration
Depending on your situation, provide:
Bank statements (last 4-6 months)
Scholarship or funding letters
Sponsor's financial documents and letter of support
Proof of employment and pay stubs (if working in Canada)
Canada Revenue Agency documents (if applicable)
Financial requirements:
Living expenses for yourself and any dependents
Tuition fees for remaining program duration
Return transportation costs

If applicable:
Marriage certificate (if married since initial application)

Immigration Medical Exam
Medical exam typically NOT required for renewals unless:
Your previous medical exam has expired (valid for 12 months)
You're changing programs to one requiring medical exam

Dependent Spouse: Required Documents
Include these documents if your spouse is in Canada with you and needs to renew their status.

Dependent Children: Required Documents
Include these documents for each dependent child in Canada who needs continued authorization.
Who Qualifies as a Dependent Child
Under Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations, a dependent child is:
Under 22 years old and not married or in a common-law relationship, or
22 years or older who has depended on parental financial support since before age 22 and cannot be financially self-supporting due to a physical or mental condition

Program Extension
If your program is taking longer than originally planned:
Updated Letter of Acceptance showing new completion date
Official letter from DLI explaining program extension
Academic transcripts showing progress
Explanation for extension (additional courses, changed program, etc.)
Changed Programs
If you changed programs at the same DLI:
New Letter of Acceptance for current program
Transcript from previous program
Explanation of program change (recommended)
Confirmation that new program also leads to credential (refer to LOA)
Changed Schools
If you transferred to a different DLI:
Letter of Acceptance from new DLI
Transcript from previous DLI
Proof you notified IRCC of school change (if required under November 2024 rules)
New study permit amendment approval (if applicable)
Academic Challenges
If you had academic difficulties:
Current transcript showing improvement
Letter from academic advisor or program coordinator
Explanation of circumstances and remediation steps
Evidence of current good academic standing
Signature Authorization (Optional)
Provide a clear signature on plain white paper using a blue ballpoint pen for digital insertion, or manually sign printed forms and send scanned copies.
Document Quality Standards
All documents must be:
Clear and legible
Complete with all pages
In color if original is in color
Properly oriented
Showing all four corners
Translations: Documents not in English or French require certified translations with original documents.
